Men’s Cup final – Australia 29 South Africa 0

Australia has won its first Cup final in six years, beating South Africa 29-0 in Sydney, to give the home crowd a double title to celebrate.

Australia have claimed their first Cup since 2012, keeping the Blitzboks scoreless in an incredible performance at Allianz Stadium.

The heat was on the Aussies from the outset but Jesse Parahi forced a critical penalty at a defensive breakdown to clear the Australian lines.

As Australia pressed, Lewi Holland made a very rare mistake in the South African half, turning the ball back over.

Australia 29

Tries: O’Donnell 2, Holland, Stannard, Porch,

Cons: Stannard 2

South Africa 0

  1. Wow, Aussie guys! This is what it is all about! Cut out the soul-destroying mistakes, tackle like you mean it for the whole game, and believe in yourself and your mates without question or doubt??? 29 – 0 vs the BlitzBokke!!! (For one day ONLY to be known as the ‘Blitzed Bokke’!)
What a great weekend for Australian Sevens Rugby!
