RWC 2019: All Blacks welcomed at historic Tokyo temple

The All Blacks have been humbled by an official Rugby World Cup welcome at an historic Tokyo temple.

New Zealand’s World Cup squad received commemorative World Cup caps and participation medals at a ceremony at Zojoji temple on Saturday night.

“It’s pretty special, the temple has a 600-year history so for the players to get their caps and start their journey here, it’s special,” All Blacks coach Steve Hansen told Japan’s Kyodo News.

The All Blacks were earlier mobbed in their last session at their pre-tournament training camp in Kashiwanoha in the Chiba prefecture.
