An inspired Fiji earned a historic first win over France with a superb 21-14 win in Paris on Saturday. Fiji ran in the opening try halfway through the first half, but France responded shortly after with their first try to level the scores at 7-7.
Fiji crossed for a second try, but France scored with the last play of the half, with the conversion giving them a narrow 14-12 lead at the halftime break.
An early second half penalty saw Fiji reclaim the lead, with a second penalty extending their advantage to four points heading into the final quarter at 18-14.
France threw everything they had at the visitors, but were kept out by some outstanding Fijian defence on the line. Fiji would put the icing on the cake with another penalty with the final act of the match to seal a famous victory, their first ever over France in their tenth meeting.
